If anyone is interested in having a look at the process we´re doing, I´ve uploaded my VMWare image to http://people.ipfire.org/~maniacikarus/IPFire3/.
I´ve added samba, squid and suricata with a running config. There is a green0 bridge running with 192.168.255.11 and looking for 192.168.255.1 DNS and gateway.
Since dhcp is not fully implemented yet you need to change the static network config stored in /etc/network/zones/green0/settings or by using the ip commands.
You can play around with the network, systemd or just check the new pakfire from https://pakfire.ipfire.org/packages by using pakfire install|remove package.
Login as root with ipfire.
